Children are quite different from adults not only as structurally, but also their metabolism and in terms of their response to the diseases. The most important variable is the age of the pediatric patients. Clinical biochemist must have knowledgeable about the differences in the interpretation and realization of the testing of sick children. The aim of this review is to present some important preanalytical and analytical challenges and some exceptions while analyzing pediatric samples broadly.
