Sepsis is defined as systhemic response against infections and frequently caused by gram negative bacteria. It is proposed that the blood levels of acute phase reactants such as Lipopolisaccharide Binding Protein (LBP), C-reactive protein (CRP), mediators of septic cells such as Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) and cytokine IL-6 increases in case of an endotoxin.In order to evaluate the cellular response and the difference between case and control groups, we determined the serum levels of LBP, TNF, IL-6 and CRP levels in 21 rats which were undergone caecal ligation puncture procedure and intraperitoneal E.Coli injection to evolve sepsis. There was not a statistically significant difference between control group. Group I whose hemoculture result was normal flora and group II whose hemoculture result was E. Coli positive (p>0.05).
